SPECT/CT

At Scandinavian Medical Solutions, we offer a variety of diagnostic imaging equipment – from MRI and CT – scanners to X-ray and PET/CT scanners. We offer SPECT/CTs from the major Original Equipment Manufacturers such as Philips, Siemens, and GE.

The price for each used SPECT/CT scanner varies based on several factors, including the number of slices, YOM, tube types, as well as installed software. Our experience and extensive knowledge of CT and SPECT/CTs ensure that you can always get assistance when choosing the right scanner that fits the exact requirements.

Integrating two exam forms in one scan

A SPECT/CT combines two scans – the SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) scan with a CT scan (Computed Tomography). By integrating both scan forms, the technology enables a detailed and informative study often used to detect abnormalities, even at the early stages of illness.

SPECT and PET Scans are similar, but the main difference between the two scans is the type of radiotracers used. SPECT scans measure gamma rays, while PET scans use radiotracers that produce small positron particles.

SPECT systems based on gamma-emitting radiotracers are less expensive and more readily available than their PET counterpart. One of the biggest pluses of PET scans is the imaging quality, as image quality here tends to have fewer artifacts in images.

When purchasing a used SPECT/CT there are multiple factors to take into consideration. At Scandinavian Medical Solutions, we can always help you with guidance and information on the systems available.
